Cine Lib. Multimodal and collaborative tagging tools for movie libraries, ANR project.

At a time where audiovisual content --films, notably-- become easier to access (through mass distribution of DVDs, development of IPTV and VoD websites, the use of big collaborative video websites to broadcast or promote films), the social and cultural ambition of this project is the building of an individual and collective memory which deals with cinema. It would combine the skills of documentary engineering of the main French film libraries with tagging from an amateur audience growing larger.

This convergence of upward and downward contributions appears all the more necessary if you want to go beyond a cartography solely based on bibliogaphy and tackle the semantic, symbolic and perceptive content of a film universe which, if it's not visited and practiced almost in a psychomotor and instrumental way by some, overmatches the memory of a simple individual.
In this aspect, it's a project of collective individuation (in the meaning of the philosopher Simondon), this aims to experiment new individual and collective "instruments" of representation, navigation, tagging and appropriation (publication).

The scientific goal of this research project is the study and the resulting development of models of knowledge and description allowing an individual or groups of individuals (amateur circles) to build spaces of representation, points of view and journeys into large sets of films wholly accessible as it currently is today in the libraries.
