At the University of Santa Barbara, Twelve set-ups made by artists or collective of artists were exhibited. The main theme around which focused the works put forward issues about networking, communication as well as standards of Western culture that emerging countries must comply with in order to negociate. A specific attention was put on issues about diagrams, original models of information or database browsing organization.

Curator : Alex Jaimes, JoAnn Kuchera-Morin, George Legrady, Marko Peljhan, and Lonce Wyse.

On the fringe of the exhibition, a international scientific symposium talked about these issues, relying on research or development carried out inside academic or business laboraties.
